The aims of the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Art & Design:

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 BTEC Higher National Diploma allows students to specialise by committing to specific career paths and progression routes to degreelevel study. In addition, the qualifications may provide links to industry-related and employer-supported apprenticeship schemes that can provide further opportunities for enhanced employability.

• On successful completion of the Pearson BTEC Level 5 BTEC Higher National Diploma, students can develop their careers in the Art and Design sector through:
• Entering employment
• Continuing existing employment
• Linking with the appropriate vendor accredited certificates
• Committing to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Progressing to university
• Progressing to a higher apprenticeship scheme, in conjunction with progression to a university degree course.

Qualification frameworks:

Pearson BTEC Higher National qualifications are recognised higher education qualifications in the UK. They are in line with the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Subject Benchmark Statements. These qualifications are part of the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Pearson does not set formal entry requirements for our qualifications. But as a
centre, We are responsible for making sure that the students we recruit have areasonable chance of success on the programme.

• Applicant must be 16 years and above.
• Completed 11 years of education  UEC/SPM/O-Level  with minimum or equivalent
• Appropriately experienced applicants who do not fully meet the minimum academic requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

English language requirements

Students have not carried out their final two years of schooling in English Should demonstrate ability at a standard equivalent to:
● Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2
● PTE Academic 51, or
● IELTS 5.5 (reading and writing must be at 5.5).

University Recognition and Articulations:

Pearson work with a range of higher education institutions around the world that recognise and accept BTEC Higher Nationals as a qualification for entry onto an undergraduate degree.

Many universities allow advanced entry onto the second or third year of a degree, and agreements can include credit transfer, articulation and case-by-case admission.

Students should be aware that university admission criteria are always subject to change and remain at the discretion of the institution. Students should take time to understand the course entry requirements for subject, year and grade before applying.
